Company Information

For over 30 years now, BearCat has been building highway maintenance equipment - starting with the world's first cab-controlled liquid asphalt distributor in 1970.  During these years, the company's technical innovations have spurred higher performance levels thoughout our industry.
For example:

  • Computerized Rate Control for asphalt distributors has raised spread-rate accuracy and eliminated operator calculations and adjustments.

  • The computer-controlled one-man chip spreader the SuperChipper, continues to set new records of high-production performance and spread rate accuracy wherever it goes.

  • The All-Diesel crack-sealing machine has never been surpassed in sheer volume of daily production.

Most of the early 1,000 BearCat machines built in the past 31 years are still doing the job.  They are working throughout the U.S. and Canada, Central and South America, Africa, and Europe.  That kind of acceptance is the best indicator we know of the consistent quality of BearCat equipment.

Now after 30 years, we can see numerous opportunities for on-going progress in the future - new machines, new materials, ever-evolving techniques.  For example, asphalt-rubber blending equipment, pioneered by BearCat, is a potentially major factor in our industry.  Also, computer-controlled machines will become steadily more powerful and widely used in the years ahead.

In these and other areas, BearCat intends to continue leading the way in technical advances and in outstanding quality, service, and performance.

As always, we want to hear from you when you have suggestions, questions or special equipment needs.  And as always, we'll be here to help.

Ken Hill, President of BearCat

Some of our customers may recognize Ken, as he has never been reluctant to get out in the field and do whatever is needed to keep a job moving.  Whether at the drawing board or "hands-on" with an asphalt distributor, Ken adheres to the principle that BearCat equipment must be dependable and productive, designed for ready maintenance, and supported by an extensive inventory of replacement parts and services, quickly available when needed.
